Jaap Schoufour visited Dubrovnik

With the coaching session for policy and decision makers in Dubrovnik, Kultura Nova Foundation concluded the ”Knowledge sharing and capacity building” activity implemented through numerous meetings of experts and representatives of the local governments within the “Approaches to the Participatory Governance of Cultural Institutions” project. In the framework of the meeting Jaap Schoufour presented the Art Factories programme - a platform that enables cooperation between different partners (developers, banks, users) interested in converting existing spaces in Amsterdam into creative places. He also gave an insight in the guidelines of the new Art Factories’ strategic plan for the coming period. In the discussion which followed after the the presentation, representatives of the City of Dubrovnik introduced their projects and presented particularities, opportunities and challenges they are facing in the revitalization and repurposing of the city owned spaces for culture and arts. By answering different questions of the Dubrovnik city administration Jaap Schoufour shared Amsterdam’s experiences and practices of the Art Factories programme and its contribution to the city strategic commitment in supporting development of arts, culture and by that sustainable development of the city.
