Meeting in Dugave
In the framework of the campaign for the intercultural social center, Operation city Alliance, in collaboration with Civil Initiative Dugave and football club Zagreb 041, organized an event “Svi u park”, held in park Dugave on Saturday, July 8th. The program started with the discussion “What kind of neighborhood do we need?”. Discussion participants Ksenija Banović (Citizens' Initiative Dugave), Branimir Šloser (FC Zagreb 041), Miljenka Ćurković (counselor at Local committee Dugave), Dea Vidović (director of Kultura Nova Foundation), Teo Petričević (ACT Group Čakovec) and Emina Bužinkić (Center for peace studies) discussed following topics: the challenges of working in local community, experiences of governing at the local level, inclusion of citizens in cultural and social activities, possible models of intercultural social center and their effects on local community, public-civil partnership and participatory governance including their roles in raising the quality of life in the local community, and challenges which stakeholders are facing in governing processes. After introduction briefs of the discussion participants, the local community representatives had the opportunity to talk about the kind of neighborhood they want. The discussion was moderated by Mirela Travar from Operation city Alliance. After the talk, meeting with the local community continued through workshops ContaKids, Lupetajte!, creative workshop for kids, eco-creative fair by Dugave Civil Initiative, Live Library, Bernard the bike fixer workshop, and healthy and sustainable cooking with Sjemenčice collective. Music of the Wolfbad Squad accompanied the whole event.
Kultura Nova Foundation participated in the event within the project activity "Knowledge sharing and capacity building for civil and creative sectors".
